AI transformation at the speed of a bullet train!

Innovation in Pharma has been facilitated by advances in technical fields, with AI supporting the latest and fastest developing computing capabilities.

ICT industry investment in AI has increased dramatically and is fuelling AI hype, seeking use cases that fit AI capabilities. This has created fear-of-missing-out and fear-of-falling-behind, forcing businesses to reassess their innovation strategies and prioritize AI adoption. Pharma is not an exception.

  • Pharma organizations are exploring possible benefits from fast-advancing technologies and grappling with the issues of the AI technology validation and the AI output and process verification to ensure safe AI use.
  • Regulatory bodies are revisiting compliance requirements and legal obligations, aiming to provide implementation guidance. However, the AI development pace requires ongoing monitoring and revision that are currently lacking and leaving organizations to figure out on their own a safe way of using latest AI advances.
  • AI complexity and lack of knowledge are forcing Pharma organizations to make decisions on a trial-and-error basis and, in the process, risk non-compliance.
  • The AI for Pharma Consortium is an efficient way for the organizations to find a solid common ground, to align and coordinate adoption of AI approaches, and remain compliant with regulations while pursing AI based innovation.
